Nigeria and recommended strategies for inclusion. It is an undisputed fact that women in Nigeria find it difficult to actively participate in the socio-economy and political activities in society due to these barriers. The barriers have been major constraints on women socio-economic and political development. There have been efforts over the years to address these challenges by the government through policy statements such as the National Gender Policy in Nigeria, which recommended 35% affirmative action. Despite all these efforts, there has not been a genuine commitment to its implementation in Nigeria. The paper advocates a collaborative effort among the critical stakeholders towards the implementation of various national and international treaties on women inclusiveness in Nigeria.
