Ever before the arrival of the colonial era, in Nigeria, a form of technology had existed in Nigeria which can be referred to as indigenous. Everyone in the system then displayed their own skill which attract necessary development. Therefore, talents, skills, hardwork, patriotism were displayed by every member of the Nigerian society and it came part of them. Therefore, looking at indigenous technology as a bedrock for skill development will give way to value of our own technology which can bring comfort and easiness. This paper, therefore examines the development of various skills that have their foundation built on indigenous technology as well as technological development which brings about material gain and value development training. It concluded by recommending skill development as part of human development even within the educational system. This can also make it a powerful instrument for value promotion in Nigeria.
