Educating women is pivotal to the promotion of healthy adult living and the development of the society at large. Educated women play key roles in the development of their society such as cook healthy meals, get useful information on hygiene, health habits as well as apply this knowledge for the good of the children, adults in the family and the society at large. Despite several declarations by the international organizations, and policies put in place by the Nigerian government, on the importance of women education, the rate of women education in Nigeria is still low, compared to other developed nations. This paper therefore sought to project the education of women as a key driver in the promotion of healthy living of adults and put out strategies that may be used by the government and the policy makers to invest in, and promote the education of its female population. It was recommended among others, that policies which encourage the engagement of credible allies within politics, religion, sports, the mass media, and families in promoting women education, should be put in place, as well as emphasised the right of every child to education, in order to encourage enrolment and completion of education by the girl child. In conclusion, the women are the pillars in the family, social and nation at large; possess the potentials of transforming the society to a healthy nation if opportunity are provided.
